NIKKI STANTON JOINS VANCOUVER RISE FC
Midfielder brings more than 200 matches of professional experience
VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Rise FC announced on Thursday that the club has signed experienced NWSL midfielder Nikki Stanton.
“Nikki is a great addition to our inaugural roster for Vancouver Rise FC,” said sporting director Stephanie Labbé. “With a decade of pro experience, Nikki will bring leadership to our squad and strength to our midfield. Nikki is a fantastic character, and someone I know will come in and make an impact both on and off the field immediately. We are so proud to welcome Nikki to Vancouver."
Stanton, 34, has played more than 200 professional matches over the past 10 years in the United States, Australia, and Norway.
Most recently, the native of North Bend, Washington played three seasons with her hometown National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side Seattle Reign FC, making 49 appearances, while helping Reign FC win the NWSL Shield in 2022. In total, Stanton has made 131 NWSL appearances between her time with Reign FC, Chicago Red Stars and Gotham FC.
Outside of her time in the NWSL, Stanton played three seasons with Perth Glory in Australia’s W-League, and one season with Klepp in Norway.
At the collegiate level, Stanton played for the Fairfield University Stags, where she was a three-time selection to the All-MAAC First Team.
This past year, Stanton was featured in the Box to Box Films docu-series The Offseason.
